Again, thanks so much guys!Sorry about the odd angle. Also, my neighbor made me an afghan for my birthday a few years back and I thought i'd ask the same question. I had completely forgotten about this, but a couple of years ago, I sort of remodeled a bathroom and thought I'd post a pic of that to see if it kind of sort of goes with the colors that terry and apple pie posted.
I was fresh out of college/ boot camp and just kind of bought whatever I could afford. I bought both of those on craigslist about 4 years ago. I think that's probably a good idea also. What do you guys think? Also, a few of you suggested ditching the couch and coffee table. The way I figure, the early american wood furniture would match the wood floors and walls and fireplaces, and the color pattern would lighten up the wood, as well as match the white exterior of the house. I'm thinking that a combo of that color scheme, along with the early american furniture style (like emmarene suggested) would look pretty cool.

Also, like teamaltise said, I think that keeping it clutter free will be clutch. I really like the blue/ grey/ white color combo that terry posted as well as the way that it was combined with the awesome wood bed frame on apple pie's pic. (I just remember sinking into it every time I sat down. Its a good thing I didn't post any pics of the couch that I just got rid of! haha.
I'm definitely going to check out HGTV! Also, I completely agree with the no puffy furniture thing. Hey Guys! Thanks you sooo much for all the great suggestions.
